Thrifting gives me happy thoughts...

So this week has been a tough one. My grandmother was sick and today she passed away. The only good thing that came from this is that I was able to spend some quality time with my family and I am missing school. Anyway, we all have officially left the hospital and some decided to brighten the day by thrifting. There's nothing that makes me happier, other than cute hipster geeks, flannel and the Packers...maybe even mythical creatures...and Harry Potter ;). Anyway, we first went to a truck stop diner which had phenomenal food. I saw the coolest old man and instantly wanted to be his friend. There was also a man with a fur coat. See below. So back to thrifting. I found some gold mines; Unicorns, Packer sweaters, candle holders, Star Trek plates and grandma purses. It was beautiful. For I'm at home relaxing and eating. Mom jeans aren't going to fit after this week. At least for now.

The man I will become best friends with. He even looks sad....
I still don't know why this mister from the middle of Hicksville, Wisconsin
is wearing a fur coat. Plus it was a hot day at 44 degrees!

This lovely couch is at the Salvation Army for only $35!
I still want to buy it and put it in my room next year. It matches!

Lovely Unicorns. One will soon be in the arms of Surrah. The other,
well, his goatee scared me.

Whoa. Whoa. Whoa. GoodWill has Star Trek plates! AWESOME!
Too bad they were $14.99/plate

 L'ttle Ginga' Man! So cute!

My groove is coming back

Life is continuing its epic adventures. What I actually mean by that is school is continuing and I'm moving along through it. Yesterday was m'lady friend, Surrah's, birthday. We went to the always lovely Stout Ale House for a few drinks where I was able to ogle over the ever handsome Prince Eric and his beautiful locks. What can I say? I love a good set of locks.... Anyway, couple of tequila sunrises in, our group moved over to the movie theater and watch Beauty & the Beast 3D. It was AMAZEBALLS! 1) there is so much more detail when things are popping in your face including the bulges on Gaston. 2) An empty theater plus a group of 20-somethings who know all the words equals major sing-a-long session slightly off-key yet so beautiful.

And I'm the mistress to this beautiful gal, my future roomie

Really excited to see light sabers coming at my face!

Today was especially awesome for me. If you know me personally, you know I love sweaters. I wear them all the time no matter what the weather is. I'm that strange girl wearing a turtleneck in summer...I love them. Anyway, I started my Knits Technology course this semester and today was the second day and we already started the machines. I was making love to mine already! I'm hooked. Ha....no pun intended.

So excited about my headband/baby sleeve/"sock"

Poor habits kick in...

So. I've been neglecting things. This blog being one of the "things". I don't even have any excuse better than I've become reacquainted with my futon and it has a way of keeping me from important things. So little update:

New Years Eve = Friends, boose and dancing.

Pregame with Murray <3 We matched....

Bathroom break at BOMP...we lost the group obviously...

So by this time, I am now back to work at the lovely Levies. I've chatted with my friends both on and off the field. I also made a new acquaintance with the West Coast Manager? (Basically big shot man in the company!) He told me about the reorganization of the company and that I might have a chance! The only bummer is that it is not in NYC but in San Francisco instead. But who am I to judge San Fran. I will welcome it with open arms! I had some fun while I was in the cities. Coffee dates, pedicures, lunches and space bars:

 Room decorations for my apartment?

Old picture my aunt gave me of myself (left), my father (center) and my sister (right)
Aren't we a happy bunch...

Drinks with the aunt in Albertville's infamous Space Aliens bar

And I'm back in Menomonie...SO EXCITED! I'm already missing my friends from the cities. I had a good time while there. Some self awareness happened but now I must face the freshmen. I will be grateful for what Housing has done for me but enough is enough. I am definitely too excited to get out of it. RA years are measured like dog years. I'm getting old. I'm also realizing how different 18/19 year old people are. Anyway, I've jumped on the bandwagon to the start of the new semester and it's brought only weirder things to my eyes. Including but not limited to:

Mice? Rats? Timon? Where's Pumba? Who the hell are these people?

Alcoholism.
Yeah, this belongs to two people who make $150 a month and we don't hoard...
And more Harry Potter wands. Nothing is more relaxing.
Get ready for the Etsy account that will soon be following:
Fieri Incantamentum :D

And a special thanks goes to my best friend Bethanee. She gave me the ultimate Christmas gift. It is so beautiful:

The first of my Cookbook collection and the 9th of my HP....
It even has uneven edges....mystical <3

Last, but not least, The Beatles Glasses.
I feel as if I may be drinking often from them both ironically labeled
Hard Day's Night and Help....upcoming semester problems? Let's hope not.

The end is near....

As I was typing the title, I was thinking about break and then realized that I, in fact, also used the slogan for the last Harry Potter movie. Ironic? I don't know. Maybe just a damn amazing coincidence. Well, my hurr got done. I didn't think it turned out as I wanted to when it first got done however, after those initial 48 hours of not being able to shower, it turned for the better. I have finally gotten my Janis Joplin do! Nothing a little spray can't cure! Thank goddess. Now that that topic is out of the way, I got to spend time with my paternal side of the family over break. It was very nice. I haven't gotten to spend as much time with them which is ironic because I am most like that side; loud, obnoxious, bright (wink), and did I mention loud? The reason for this is because Sally my wonderful Dodge Stratus decided to break down. Blah, blah, blah was wrong with it. Blah, blah, blah got fixed. AWESOME! She's running again. Hopefully she'll last until I graduate and then I'll be off in Nuevo York. Most of break is consisting of me working at the always fabulous Levi's. It's a second, maybe third home, if you count my real home in the Village and Stout. Real exciting I know! But, I lurve the people there like no other. It's a little different than it used to when I first started. It's weird being one of the few that's been there for over a year let alone almost 2. My anniversary will be coming up this year! Yay! I was really close with almost everyone and now there's a few people. One of which I will miss dearly! I will call him my trucker. Spoiler Alert: We are creating the ultimate e-zine/blog/soon-to-be-real magazine for the everyday cynic. It will be beautiful. And I will leave that there for now. With that, I will leave you with a little bit of what my life is consisting of while on break:

This is what my "normal" meal consists of:
Reeses Pieces, Noodles & Co., and Big Gulps....Yum
 My bedside manners:
Euphoria, MK Watch, Cough Drops & iPhone 4s
And I'm living out of a suitcase again....
